Why am I grateful?

Not quite long I took a census of the numbers of followership I gathered in the month of August 2019 and I was wowed counting 46,even despite the fact that yesterday was the last day in August,I was able to have a follower.

I am not looking down on the efforts of great minds on this platform who have decided to be a follower,a reader and a viewer,I am leveraging on the fact that today is the first of a new month—1st of September 2019.

Many rivers are not yet crossed but with the crop of people around me on this platform,I am confident that we can move mountains.

Together we can.

Thanks.

Why Kano Pillars must be banned?

Football fans want Kano Pillars captain Rabiu Ali banned for his unruly behaviour in Pillars’ 1-1 draw against Enugu Rangers during their Nigeria Professional Football League Playoff clash at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
The midfielder, who grabbed the opener for Pillars in the 58th minute, accosted referee Adebimpe Quadri after the end of the game. The ref had awarded Rangers a late penalty, which was converted by Godwin Aguda.
Ali’s reaction reportedly incited the fans of the club, who invaded the pitch in numbers wielding dangerous objects, after the encounter.
“Followers of our local league know too well that visiting teams rarely win away from home,” Nazareth Chinaza wrote on The PUNCH Facebook page.
“The behaviour of Ali and the violent action of Pillars fans are the reasons. The League Management Company must take decisive action if they are serious about growing this league and making it reputable.”

Another fan, Destiny Onyinye also suggested a four-year ban for the Pillars captain.
“After investigations and if this turns out to be true, the Nigerian FA should take four years off Ali’s career and points deducted off the club,” he wrote.
Alvin Otutu was of the view that Ali should be prosecuted for his actions against the referee.
“This is on Kano Pillars, not NPFL, it appears Ali and his cohorts are planning to return the league to her ugly past. Ali should be banned for three years, prosecuted for attempted assault and Kano Pillars should lose nine points and fined N500m. This will teach others a lesson.”

Manchester United falling off the ladder of being the first best four in Premier League Campaign in 2019.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Manchester United were handed a painful reality check in 2018-19, with the “biggest and best club in the world” needing to rebuild quickly.

The Red Devils have seen the curtain come down on a forgettable campaign that delivered a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, no silverware and failure to qualify for the Champions League.

A serious rebuilding job is required at Old Trafford, with Solskjaer the latest manager to be charged with the task of putting foundations for future success in place.

He has experienced a steep learning curve since returning to familiar surroundings, with a positive opening to a reign as interim boss having been countered by a run of two wins in 12.

Quizzed by United’s official club app as to what lessons he has taken from a season that promised much but delivered little, he said: “I’ve learned that I don’t like losing. I like winning.

“We started off fantastically. The boys were unbelievable when I came in. We were positive. We won games.

“The whole group gelled together and I enjoyed winning but I know that football is hard. You can’t just expect everything to go that way and the reality hit us.

“We are in a league with loads of very good teams and, to be at our top [level], we need to be 100 per cent focused.

“We came into some games really, really focused with the full team and I thought that was fantastic.

“Then you learn a lot when you go through tough times and think about who can be build this team around, and who we think is going to take the next step because we need to go to the next level.”

Part of the problem for United is that they have fallen behind domestic rivals who are flourishing at home and abroad and will likely spend again over the summer in an effort to become even stronger.

Solskjaer acknowledges the challenges he faces and the differences in English football to when he was starring for United as a player, adding: “There are different playing styles, more teams playing more continental styles and competitiveness to the league.

“It’s a massive difference, we’ve got six teams who would say ‘we can challenge for trophies’ and it used to be one or two, with us when Arsenal or Chelsea were challenging when I played.

“Leicester won the league, Everton are challenging and there are 10 teams who could qualify for Europe.

“You can see by City winning the league and possibly a domestic treble, maybe to Liverpool and Spurs in the Champions League final, and Arsenal and Chelsea in the Europa League final, that we’re competing against the best clubs in the world.

“That’s a challenge we won’t take lightly. It’s a great challenge for this club, the biggest and best club in the world.”

United are expected to splash the cash in the next transfer window as they endeavour to close the gap on those around them, with Solskjaer having already admitted that his squad for 2019-20 will look markedly different to the one he inherited from Jose Mourinho.

MLST SPORTS:Messi overtakes Salah in race for golden shoe—(2 Minutes Read).

Lionel Messi’s hat-trick in Barcelona’s 4-2 win at Deportivo on Sunday has seen him overtake Liverpool’s Mohammad Salah in the race of the European Golden Shoe award.

Messi’s 41st club hat-trick helped Barca clinch the LaLiga title with four games remaining.

That puts the Argentine on 64 points, two clear of Salah, who failed to score in their 0-0 draw with Stoke City on Saturday.

Messi, who won last season’s European Golden Boot having scored 37 times to finish with a total of 74 points, is now in pole position for another individual title.

He has four league games remaining while Salah has two.

In third place is Lazio’s Ciro Immobile, just two goals behind Salah and three behind Messi; the Italian has three Serie A games remaining to make up the deficit.

Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich is in fourth (28 goals, 56 points), while PSG’s Edinson Cavani and Inter’s Mauro Icardi have 27 goals (54 points). Tottenham striker Harry Kane is in seventh with 26 goals (52 points).

If Messi stays ahead of Salah, it would make him the first player to win the European Golden Shoe five times (2009/10, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2016/17).
