Prince Charles celebrates 71st birthday in India.

Prince Charles celebrated his 71st birthday by sharing a chocolate cake with schoolchildren in Mumbai.

The group sang Happy Birthday to Charles as he cut the cake.

He offered one girl a piece from the end of the knife — and could not resist licking his fingers afterwards.

He met the children on the final day of his two-day trip to India.

They had been stumped over what to give him for his birthday, but came up with the idea of three bonsai fairy gardens, which feature tiny figures telling stories about the Hindu deity Krishna.

Their school has been supported by the prince’s British Asian Trust and the Piramal Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Piramal Group led by billionaire Ajay Piramal.

His wife, Dr Swati Piramal, said: “What can you give a prince? So they thought of the bonsai gardens.

“He really loved it, because in England there’s a culture of fairy gardens, there are gnomes, but this is unique because this is Krishna’s fairy garden.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among those wishing the prince a happy birthday.

They posted a new photograph on Instagram showing him with Prince Harry and Archie, captioned: “Happy birthday to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales — Sir, Pa, Grandpa!”

Why Duchess of Sussex is a woman of colour?

British royal the Duchess of Sussex has presented herself as a “woman of colour” and “sister” to native South Africans during her trip to Cape Town with Prince Harry.

The former actress and her husband marked the first day of their tour of the nation on Monday (23Sept19), and in a powerful speech addressing gender-based violence, the 38 year old made it clear she stood beside the victims.

“We are encouraged to hear your president take the next step towards preventing gender-based violence through education and necessary changes to reinforce the values of modern South Africa,” she said. “I feel incredibly humble to be in the presence of all of you as you stand firm in your core values of respect, dignity, and equality.”

She then drew on her own personal life to address the crowd.

“On one personal note, may I just say that while I am here with my husband as a member of the royal family, I want you to know that for me, I am here with you as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of colour and as your sister. I am here with you, and I am here for you.”

Why Queen rejected Harry and Meghan’s wish for a new home?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘s Royal Wedding was a stunning historical occasion enjoyed by people around the world.
The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family looked in their element as they celebrated with the happy couple at Windsor Castle.
But according to a report it was a very different story shortly afterwards, and the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex faced disappointment when the Monarch rejected a request they made about their home.
According to the Sunday Times , the couple asked the Queen if they could live at Windsor Castle.

The report, written by Rosa Nikkah states:

“The couple are understood to have set their hearts at first on Windsor Castle, and are believed to have asked the Queen if living quarters could be made available after their marriage.”

But Harry’s granny said no and gave them Frogmore Cottage instead, which they have since spent an astounding £2.4million of taxpayers’ money refurbishing.
Hugo Vickers told the Express why the Queen may have decided to deny their request, saying it might not have been “entirely appropriate”.

He writes:

“There are empty bedrooms and suites in the private apartments within Windsor Castle which the Sussexes may have had their eye on, or perhaps some former living quarters in the castle grounds converted into other things.

“But I can see how it might not be entirely appropriate to have a young family living there.”

When they were dating Meghan moved into Prince Harry’s small two-bedroom cottage at Kensington Palace, which is just a few doors up from the Cambridge family.

However shortly before the birth of Archie Harrison the couple moved into their new home, later than expected due to delays with the renovation work.
List most things royal, most of the details about their new home have been kept secret – but there are a few things we do know.
The couple enlisted the help of designer Vicky Charles, who is behind the decor at their favourite hangouts Soho House, to turn the building into their dream home.
It’s understood to be filled with all the latest tech and it’s likely that they are able to control many different things from their phones.
A source told royal expert Katie Nicholl :

“They are going all out with the refurbishment of the house, and as Harry loves his gadgets, it’s going to be very cool.
“They’ll be able to control everything from their smart phones.”

It’s understood that one the couple are also had a £50,000 eco boiler installed, which means they will have access to hot water at all times.
Frogmore Cottage is just 200 metres from the Long Walk – which is open to the public – so there is obviously a lot of security, which is also funded by the taxpayer.
Other entrances to the grounds are further from their new home – some just 500 metres away – but are further from open scrutiny, leading to fears they could be easily accessed.
It’s likely that they will have built a separate annex for their Private Protection Officers who will guard them 24 hours a day.
A source close to the operation say planners have also discussed including as state of the art panic room.
Speaking before the move Ken Wharfe, former royal protection officer to Princess of Wales and the royal family, said:

“The costs of building and security arrangements could even balloon to £5million in the first year.

“There will have to be major reviews of the security surrounding that property because it is exposed on virtually every side.

“Whatever happens it will be a dramatic rise to the taxpayer which could have been avoided had they decided to stay at Kensington Palace.”

How Prince Harry retraced his mother’s footsteps today.

Prince Harry retraced his mother’s footsteps today as he put huge grins on poorly children’s faces at the same hospital Diana visited 30 years ago.

The Duke of Sussex was met with cheers as he arrived at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and stepped out of his car into the baking sunshine where throngs of people were waiting for him.

Once inside, the playful duke left youngsters in fits of giggles – including one who he had a tug of war competition with.

He was then seen looking lost in thought as he studied a book of photos showing mum Diana’s visit.
The Princess, dressed in red, is seen chatting to staff, as well as a mum and her young baby.

Harry smiled to himself as he flicked through the pages.

He then signed the same visitors’ book she wrote in on November 29, 1989.

The hospital visit is the first of three engagements in the city for the Duke today.

The 34-year-old is officially opening a new multi-million pound wing at the hospital and rolled up his shirt sleeves as he took a tour and met children on one of the new wards.

He looked happy and relaxed as he showed off his paternal side while chatting to the youngsters, including schoolboys Heath Keighley, 11, and Alfie.

Harry, who welcomed son Archie with wife Meghan Markle in May, couldn’t hide his delight as he spent time with Noah Nicholson and his mother.

He left the 23-month-old in fits of giggles as he put a blanket over the toddler’s head.

At one point, playful Noah – who was fascinated by Harry’s beard – was seen trying to put his finger in the Duke’s mouth, much to his amusement.

Harry then continued to pull a number of silly faces before even having a tug of war contest with Noah and the blanket.

He also clutched the toddler’s hand and tickled his stomach.

Outside the hospital, he spent time speaking to more children who he shook hands with and bent down to speak to.

After this stop, Harry visited Sheffield Hallam University to learn about their commitment to applied learning in teaching and research.

He saw a demonstration of a virtual reality rehabilitation project, which uses technology to make it easier for amputees to train themselves to use prosthetic limbs.

He also viewed a racing car built by engineering students and recently raced at Silverstone.

Harry, who is patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, will later visit the English Institute of Sport Sheffield.

He will watch the trials and meet athletes hoping to be selected for the Invictus Games The Hague 2020.

How Prince Harry gave Dr. Jane Goodall a ”chimpanzee greeting”.

Prince Harry gave Dr. Jane Goodall a ”chimpanzee greeting” as they met at Windsor Castle on Tuesday (23.07.19).

The flame-haired royal met the youngsters who are doing groundbreaking work in their communities as part of Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Global Leadership scheme and there was a heartwarming moment between Harry and Dr. Goodall as they did an ”impromptu dance”, which she had taught the Prince when they first met a number of years ago.

A post on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ official Instagram page reads:

”A couple of captured moments between The Duke of Sussex and Dr. Jane Goodall at today’s event. The pair share an impromptu dance and ‘Chimpanzee Greeting’ which Jane taught The Duke when they first met. Today’s event was full of education, inspiration and fun. Because working hard and playing hard are not mutually exclusive.”

Prince Harry was thrilled to meet such driven young people as he believes people are ”at the heart of conservation and sustainability”.

Kensington Palace shared in a statement:

”His Royal Highness believes that people are at the heart of conservation and sustainability and that in order to succeed we need an inclusive, community-centered approach. In his roles as President of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, The Duke has met young people from around the world who are leading the way with creative sustainability solutions and campaigns – it is thanks to the creativity of young people’s minds, that we can turn the tide and preserve our planet for future generations. After listening to presentations on endangered species, reducing plastic waste and embracing the wild, The Duke had the chance to thank all the young people taking part for their efforts and the difference they are making every single day.”

How Prince George received Birthday gift.

There’s never a bad time to be a royal, but it’s certainly the best time when it’s your birthday.

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s eldest son turned 6 on Monday, July 22, and siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince gave the Prince George the birthday presents he’s asked for.

Charlotte, 4, and Louis, 15 months, each gave their big brother handmade cards, according to a source for Us Weekly.

Charlotte drew her brother’s portrait on the inside of the card and worked with her parents on a second present for him. Prince George is big into “nature and building things,” said the source. “[He] has asked for a pair of binoculars for birdwatching and an electric kids’ car, which many of his school friends have.”

itionally, Kate has taken point on prepping George’s birthday party, even taking some pre-birthday photos of the little prince rocking his new missing tooth. The party is set to include all of George’s favorite foods, including pizza, pasta, sliders, “cupcakes, an ice cream machine and candy”, according to Us Weekly’s source. The whole thing will be capped off by a magician — the staple of any kid’s party.

The couple’s Instagram is incredibly George-centric right now in honor of his birthday, with three photos posted of the little boy “on holiday with the family.”

This continues the trend of showing off the close bonds between the royals. Just last week it was revealed that Princess Charlotte and Prince George are already doting on cousin, Archie, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Beyoncé and Meghan Markle shared a hug at Lion King Premiere.

On Sunday, Beyonce and Meghan Markle shared a hug on the red carpet of the Lion King premiere in London – and now fans are learning what the pair talked about during their encounter.

“My princess,” Beyonce, wearing a shimmering gold gown, was recorded saying as she embraced Meghan, who donned a black frock with a semi-sheer top and sleeves.

The singer was also overheard telling the Duchess of Sussex “the baby, so beautiful,” referencing Meghan and Prince Harry’s 2-month-old son, Archie. Bey also said that she and JAY-Z, who was by her side, “love you guys,” according to multiple outlets.

When Harry finally joined the conversation, he reportedly told Beyonce, “you’ve been rather busy.” “Congrats on the birth of your baby,” the rapper told the prince.

Then Harry asked how Bey and JAY’s 2-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir are. Beyonce replied, “They are not here. They don’t come on every trip. We left them at home. They would love to have been here.”

JAY was also overheard telling the duke and duchess, “The best advice I can give you: always find some time for yourself.”

A source told ET on Monday that Meghan was expected to attend the Lion King London premiere, unless Archie kept her at home at the last minute.

Meghan has slowly been venturing out to public events in recent days, making a surprise appearance at Wimbledon to cheer on her good friend, Serena Williams, on July 4, and bringing Archie to the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day at Billingbear Polo Club in Berkshire on July 10. Meghan watched Harry play in the polo match. By her side was Kate Middleton, who brought her three kids — 5-year-old George, 4-year-old Charlotte, and 1-year-old Louis — and watched Prince William play on the opposite team.

Then, on Saturday, Meghan returned to Wimbledon, with both Kate and Pippa Middleton, to once again watch Williams compete in the tournament; ultimately Williams was defeated.

Why Queen missed Archie’s Christening?

It was a day of celebrating for the royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were accompanied by Kate Middleton and Prince William, as well as Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at their son, Archie’s, christening on Saturday.

While the new parents were surrounded by their loved ones, including Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Princess Diana’s sisters Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were noticeably absent.

The head of the British monarchy was not in attendance due to prior royal engagements. Royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET on Tuesday that “we don’t believe that the queen is going to be there because of a clash of prior engagements. And we don’t expect the Duke of Edinburgh to be there either.”

Baby Archie’s christening took place in a small, private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle. Official photos of the little one’s special day taken by photographer Chris Allerton and were released after the ceremony. Archie’s godparents were not revealed.

The queen was also absent for Prince Louis’ christening in July of 2018. She bowed out of the event due to royal affairs as well. She did, however, attend Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s christenings.
Meanwhile, ET learned earlier this week that Harry and Meghan are eager for Archie to have “as normal a life as possible.”

“I think the couple is determined for Archie to have as normal a life as possible,” Nicholl told ET. “Prince Harry grew up very much in the spotlight, never far away from the gaze of the cameras, and at points in his life, that’s been something he has resented. My understanding is that at Frogmore, they have essentially built a fortress. One of their closest friends told me it was their oasis — their sanctuary where they’re going to raise their child away from the spotlight.”

Duke of Cambridge clocked 37 today. HURRAY!!!

In honour of the Duke of Cambridge’s 37th birthday on Friday, Kensington Palace has released a throwback picture of the royal. The caption read: “Thank you everyone for your lovely wishes on The Duke of Cambridge’s birthday!” The lovely photo sees William smiling at the camera during a trip to Tanzania from October. The official royal family Twitter account also posted a collage of pictures with the Queen, and wrote: “Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge! #HappyBirthdayHRH.” The message continued: “The Duke of Cambridge is second in line to the throne. His Royal Highness undertakes a number of charitable activities and projects, and carries out public and official duties in support of The Queen, in the UK and overseas, alongside The Duchess of Cambridge.”

Although it is yet to be revealed, it is likely that William will be spending the day with his wife Kate and their three children; Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The celebration comes shortly after the royal couple put on a glamourous appearance at Royal Ascot on Tuesday. During the procession, the Duke and Duchess shared a carriage with Prince Charles and his wife Camilla. The two couples appeared to be in great and relaxed spirits as they happily chatted away during the day’s proceedings.

It was also announced earlier this week that Prince William and Kate have formally split from their joint charity with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Seen as the final step in the division of the couples’ public duties, Harry and Meghan are to break away from the Royal Foundation. William and Kate will remain with the original charity, which will be renamed the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure. It said both couples will continue to work together in the future, including on the Heads Together mental health campaign.

Why Queen will miss Archie’s baptism next month.

The Queen will not attend baby Archie’s christening, it is claimed.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘s son will be christened next month, however, the monarch is not expected to be at the event.

Senior royals are said to be going to the ceremony, and Meghan’s mum, Doria Ragland, will also likely be in attendance.

However, the Queen will miss the occasion because of prior commitments, a report says.

The Palace confirmed that the Queen will be absent, according to the Daily Express .

The monarch also skipped last year’s christening for Prince Louis – William and Kate Middleton’s third child.

However, she was able to make the ceremony for Zara and Mike Tindall’s daughter Lena this year.

Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland is flying back to the UK to be at Archie’s christening.

She moved in with Harry and Meghan after the birth to help her daughter, however, she recently returned home to California, US.

The christening will take place at St George’s Chapel, where the royal couple wed, and is likely to be a traditional affair.

It is believed the religious ritual will be carried out by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and the Dean of Windsor, David Conner.

Prince Charles, Harry’s father, is expected to attend, alongside his wife Camilla.

The Duke of Sussex’s brother, Prince William, and wife Kate Middleton will also be at the ceremony, potentially with their children George, Charlotte and Louis.

Older Prince meeting younger Prince. What a grandeur of royal visit.

A very special visitor! Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s royal baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, met his grandfather, Prince Charles, on Thursday, May 16, Us Weekly can confirm.

The Prince of Wales, 70, recently returned from an overseas trip to Germany with Duchess Camilla.

Charles gushed over his grandson’s arrival to reporters in Berlin on May 7. “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news, and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return,” he said.

Two days prior to Charles’ visit, the little one was introduced to his uncle, Prince William, and aunt, Duchess Kate.

“Kate and William went over to Meghan and Harry’s to meet their new nephew in a private affair,” a source told Us exclusively.

The Duke, 34, and Duchess of Sussex, 37, welcomed their baby boy on May 6.

The first royal family member to meet Baby Sussex was Prince Philip on May 8, moments before the Suits alum and her husband posed for pics with their son for the first time.

“We just bumped into the duke as we were walking by, which was so nice,” the former actress told members of the press at her infant’s debut inside Windsor Castle. “So it will be nice to introduce the baby to the family.”

Harry added: “Another great-grandchild.”

Later that same day, he and Meghan revealed their son’s name with an Instagram post. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor,” the couple captioned a black-and-white photo of the Los Angeles native introducing her son to Queen Elizabeth II while her husband, 97, Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Harry looked on with smiles.

“This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle,” the royal pair added. “The Duke of Edinburgh and the duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”

Why is Prince Harry having a sleepless night?

Prince Harry said he is having sleepless nights since the arrival of baby Archie but cannot imagine life without him.

The Duke of Sussex chatted about fatherhood during a series of engagements in Oxford, including a visit to the city’s children’s hospital.

Christine George, 52, whose son James, 17, is having chemotherapy, said: “He said he had all this organised, but had a sleepless night last night – not the ideal preparation for his first day at work.”

Harry visited the city on Tuesday on his first full day of work in the UK since the birth of his and Meghan’s son last Monday. He had visited Amsterdam last week.

As he arrived at the hospital, the duke was presented with a tiny teddy bear for Archie by former patient Daisy Wingrove, 13.

Harry let out a big sigh and said “Ahhh” as a nearby crowd of well-wishers made the same sound in sympathy.

Meghan Markle’s Mom Doria Ragland Arrives in London Ahead of Birth of Royal Baby

That moment everyone’s been waiting for is almost here!

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child expected “any day” now, the Duchess of Sussex’s mother, Doria Ragland, has arrived in London, two sources tell ET.

The couple recently moved to Frogmore Cottage, a scenic home near Windsor Castle, where they intend to raise their child. While moving amid a pregnancy — particularly the final days — is no doubt a serious undertaking, a source previously told ET that Meghan is “enjoying her pregnancy and anticipating the days ahead.”

“It is such a happy and exciting time for Meghan,” the insider added. “She looks absolutely radiant and is taking each day at a time. [She is] looking forward to becoming a mother.”

Though the birth could happen anytime now, royal fans won’t know exactly when Baby Sussex makes his or her arrival. Meghan and Harry recently announced that — unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton — they will not pose for photos with the newborn outside of the hospital immediately following the birth. Instead, they’ll share photos taken on the grounds of Windsor Castle at a later date.

“Meghan Markle does not want the pressure of having to pose on the steps for cameras so soon after childbirth,” a source recently told ET, adding that, while the couple is “extremely excited” for the birth of their first child, they intend to “enjoy the magic of childhood without any undue expectations.”

Markle’s mother’s arrival coincides with another important occasion — Queen Elizabeth II’s 93rd birthday on Sunday — which the couple celebrated with a very special Instagram post for the beloved matriarch.

“Happy Birthday Your Majesty, Ma’am, Granny,” the pair captioned a series of photos on Instagram documenting the Queen’s life, including her time with both of them. “Wishing you the most wonderful day! 🎈Harry & Meghan.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry embrace Good Life with Frogmore Cottage vegetable plot

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have installed an organic vegetable garden at their new home in Frogmore Cottage , sources claim.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be able to grow their own herbs, fruits and vegetables at the Grade II-listed cottage.

The cottage was gifted by the Queen last year, with Kensington Palace confirming them to be the new residents, saying Windsor was a ‘very special place’ for the couple.

Meghan is said ‘very involved in the renovation project and wanted the final design to be perfect’, according to a royal source.

“Workers have been working around the clock since January to ensure that the cottage is completed to a very high standard with some rather interesting and unique features,” the source said.

Located near the Windsor Castle, the Queen’s residence, the royal couple will be able to live country life away from the hustle and bustle of London with their first child.

It’s said the cottage includes provision in the design to reduce outside noise and high-quality interior furnishings.

With the all-inclusive vegetable garden, the pair can easily cook home-grown produce.

The source said: “The Duchess also has a passion for cooking so it was suggested to include a small plot in the spacious garden where they can grow some of their own produce.

“The last minute design changes caused the Duke and Duchess’s move in date to be delayed.

“But they were extremely patient.”

Plans for the multi-million-pound renovation were approved by Royal Maidenhead and Windsor Borough Council in December after asking for permission for “internal and external works […] and associated landscaping”.

However, no further details have been revealed on the council’s planing page due to ‘sensitive information’ that cannot be made public.

Frogmore Cottage was built in the 18th century for Queen Charlotte, the consort of King George III.

Queen Charlotte used the property as a countryside retreat for herself and her unmarried daughters.

Queen Victoria had breakfast at the cottage in 1875 and said it was a place with an “immense number of frogs” which she found “quite disgusting”.

Kensington Palace declined to comment.

Prince William ‘stepped in to help Meghan and Harry during dispute with Queen’

Prince William reportedly “stepped in” and helped his younger brother Prince Harry during a dispute with their grandmother, the Queen.

A royal expert claims it was William who backed Harry and Meghan Markle’s wish to break from Kensington Palace so the Sussexes could establish their own court.

It emerged earlier this month that Meghan and Harry will soon have their own team separate from William and Kate’s.

Their official household will be based at Buckingham Palace where they will have a separate communications team from the Cambridges.

And royal commentator Omid Scobie has claimed Prince William was instrumental in securing the funding for Meghan and Harry to go out on their own.

Speaking on podcast On Heir, he said: “Charles and the Queen did not want the Sussexes to have their own individual household, and indeed how could they because the money has to come from somehwere.

“Prince Harry is not a direct heir to the throne, and only a direct heir to the throne can have their own household.

“They won’t be having their own exclusive team just for themselves and from what I understand their budget for the team wasn’t particularly big.”

He added that William understands how vital Meghan and Harry are to the royal family’s image and so was eager to help.

“It was actually Prince William who had to step in and fight to get Harry a little bit more money to spend on building a team because he understands what this means to Harry and how much he wants to achieve and also how important Harry and Meghan are for the image, the brand and the future of the royal family,” he said.

“As much as William is being set up for this statesmen-like role and William and Kate are the nation’s favourites, but on the global stage it is very much about the Sussexes, in their commonwealth roles, they’re very much global ambassadors for the royal family.”

Omid also revealed the couple’s new communications officer has worked in the UK and the US.

He said: “They’ve hired Sarah Latham who is a former PR director from the British PR company Freuds which is a big PR powerhouse but also has a massive background in politics.

“She’s America, dual heritage, very much in line with what the couple are all about and I think it helps having someone who understands both cultures.

“We have seen that over time the difference between US and UK work culture can cause some friction in the workplace.

“But a lot of their team will be shared amongst the Duke of York, Prince Edward, Princess Anne the same communication staff that are working across the general office there will also be at their disposal too.”

Kensington Palace said at the time of the split: “The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year.

“The Household, which will be created with the support of The Queen and The Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring.

“This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for The Duke and Duchess’s work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage .”

The Sussexes are expecting their first child in the coming weeks and are due to move into the renovated Frogmore Cottage imminently.
