SAUDI ARABIA SAYS CINEMAS WILL BE ALLOWED FROM EARLY 2018.—(3 Minutes Read).
In a report published on Reuters on the 11th of December 2017.
It was reported that Saudi Arabia said on Monday that public cinemas would be allowed in the conservative kingdom for the first time in over 35years,and that the first ones were likely to open next March.
Cinemas were banned in the early 1980s under pressure from Islamists as Saudi society turned towards a restrictive form of the religion that discouraged public entertainment and many forms of mixing between men and women.
Under reforms led by 32-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,the government is easing many of those restrictions,and also plans to lift a ban on women driving next year.It says the economy,hit hard by low oil prices will benefit from the growth of an entertainment industry.
“Openning cinemas will act as a catalyst for economic growth and diversification,”said Minister of Culture and Information,Awwad bin Salah Alawwad.
“By developing broader cultural sector we will create new employment and training opportunities as well as enriching the kingdom’s entertainment options”.
By 2030,Saudi Arabia is expected to open over 300 cinmas with more than 2000 screens,a government statement said,predicting the cinema industry would contribute over 90billion riyals($24 Billion) to the economy and create 30,000 permanent jobs by 2030.
Regional cinema chain operators are already believed to be studying entry into Saudi Arabia,industry sources said.
A commission chaired by Alawwad will announce details of licensing and regulations over the next few weeks ,the government said.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry on May 19,2018,Kessington Palace announced,they will tie the knot at St.George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Clarence House announced on Nov.27 that Harry proposed to Meghan earlier in the month,after receiving her parents’blessing.
“It was a cozy night.We were just roasting chicken,”the former Suits actress said in an interview with the BBC.
“It was just amazing surprise and it was so sweet,and natural and very romantic.He get down on one knee.”
Calling it “a really nice moment,”Harry said,”It was just two of us.I think I managed to catch her by surprise.”Meghan, who has retired from acting,smiled and confirmed she was,in fact,taken aback.
“I could barely let you finish proposing!”she said.
“I said,’can I say yes now!”.

Harry presented Meghan with a ring of his own
design,using a centre stone he sourced from Botswana-flanked by two smaller diamonds from his late mother Princess Diana’s collection.
“The fact that I fell in love with Meghan quickly was a confirmation for me that all the stars were aligned,”Harry said of their seemingly whirlwind romance.
“Everything was just perfect”.
On Nov.28,Kessington Palace announced Harry and Meghan had selected a wedding venue and will marry in the mnth of May.Since 1863,the 14th century chapel has hosted a number of royal weddings-and in 2015,after a civil ceremony,Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles’ marriage was blessed there.The royal family will pay for Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
The wedding shouldn’t interfere with the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third child,due in April 2018;Harry’s unborn relative bumps him to sixth in line to the British throne.

SAUDI ARABIA SAYS CINEMAS WILL BE ALLOWED FROM EARLY 2018.—(3 Minutes Read).
In a report published on Reuters on the 11th of December 2017.
It was reported that Saudi Arabia said on Monday that public cinemas would be allowed in the conservative kingdom for the first time in over 35years,and that the first ones were likely to open next March.
Cinemas were banned in the early 1980s under pressure from Islamists as Saudi society turned towards a restrictive form of the religion that discouraged public entertainment and many forms of mixing between men and women.
Under reforms led by 32-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,the government is easing many of those restrictions,and also plans to lift a ban on women driving next year.It says the economy,hit hard by low oil prices will benefit from the growth of an entertainment industry.
“Openning cinemas will act as a catalyst for economic growth and diversification,”said Minister of Culture and Information,Awwad bin Salah Alawwad.
“By developing broader cultural sector we will create new employment and training opportunities as well as enriching the kingdom’s entertainment options”.
By 2030,Saudi Arabia is expected to open over 300 cinmas with more than 2000 screens,a government statement said,predicting the cinema industry would contribute over 90billion riyals($24 Billion) to the economy and create 30,000 permanent jobs by 2030.
Regional cinema chain operators are already believed to be studying entry into Saudi Arabia,industry sources said.
A commission chaired by Alawwad will announce details of licensing and regulations over the next few weeks ,the government said.
