Sometimes ago,I was on an earpiece listening to a radio programme and one of the discussant explained and gave a brief description of what microwave parenting is all about.

The usage of the word microwave wowed me and I put it across on my timeline if some of us are aware of this.

I looked at my post now and I see the reason why I should explain what is all about in accordance to how the person that used it made such assertion.

There is a common saying which states that:

”There is no bad child,we only have bad parents”

parenting 2

No one could deny and look away from the present challenges the world is facing presently with the Millenia loosing their grip over the affairs of their life’s.

Young minds that ought to be the engine room and the facilitators of a better society are constantly engaging in acts that keeps us apart.

I looked at the age of the criminals arrested recently for killing an Igbo businessman yesterday and I felt bad.

They are all young to be thinking of commuting crime just for a promise of ₦2million.

I cringed and I felt bad how young minds that ought to be productive in adding values to themselves are carried away by becoming criminals just because they are desperate to make money.

Back to the issue of microwave partners and microwave parenting.

Microwave partners are partners who are not prepared practically to handle the rigour and responsibilities of being married.

This can only be seen in the way and manner that they handle their marital relationship with the display of ego, pride and insensitivity to whatever that has to do with their relationship. This always shows in their behaviour, attitude, characters and responsiveness to anything that concerns their marital relationship.

They offer nothing but constant problem to the sanctity of what Marital relationship stand for.

They are unprepared but they desire the best in their relationship without being ready to pay the sacrifice.

Same definition or tagging also applies to microwave parenting. One can see that the behaviour, attitude and characters on display by youth of today is a simple confirmation of the weakness parenting has been subjected to in this age.

Many parents can be observed by all standards that they are ill-prepared for the task of parenting which has to do with the way and manner they respond to giving their children good upbringing.

Microwave parenting defies social class and status. The rich are affected and the poor are also affected.

It is quite funny that some parents are supposed to be sent back to their parents to complete or revisit some of the training they missed or forgotten while they are growing up.

The effect of microwave partners and microwave parenting cannot be overlooked. It shows in the reality of the present society we find ourselves and we are all suffering for it with young minds loosing their grips to criminalities.

When you have people that are not prepared or people that are partially prepared for relationship and parenting but they desire to have good results, one could easily ascribed them as been a microwave.

I believe I have been explanatory enough in breaking down what microwave partners and microwave parenting are all about.

Kindly appraise yourself if you belong to anyone presently.

Thank you.

How a Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health was killed in Nigeria.

The Chairman, Medical Advisory Council of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile Ife, Osun State, Prof. Jerome Elusiyan, was Friday evening attacked and killed by some unknown gunmen in Edo State.

Kemi Fasooto, the Public Relations Officer of OAU Teaching Hospital, confirmed his death in a chat with Sunday PUNCH.

It was learnt that the late professor was in Edo State to supervise an examination.

He was said to be travelling from Ekpoma to Benin, where he had planned to spend the night, when his vehicle came under attack by some yet-to-be identified gunmen.

His driver, whose name could not be ascertained at the moment, was also shot in the attack.

He was, however, said to be receiving treatment following injuries he sustained during the attack in a hospital.

Fasooto said, “He (Elusiyan) was attacked while travelling from Ekpoma. He went to Ekpoma for an examination. His vehicle was attacked between Ekpoma and Benin.”

A professor of Paediatrics and Child Health, Elusiyan on November 24 delivered the 345th OAU inaugural lecture, entitled ‘Between too little and too much: Unravelling the mystery and misery of endocrine disorders in children.’

The lecture was delivered at the Oduduwa Hall of the university.

Reacting to the incident, the Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Association in Osun State, Taofeek Akinniyi, said in a statement that Elusiyan was returning from Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital where he had acted as an external examiner at the just concluded paediatrics clinical examination of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma.

Akinniyi said Elusiyan’s demise would create a huge vacuum in the medical profession in Nigeria and at the Osun State chapter of NMA.

The statement read in part, “The Nigerian Medical Association, Osun State branch, expresses our dejection over the untimely death of one of our members whose exit had created monumental vacuum in the medical practice.

“We want the government to not only fish out the reckless orchestrators and perpetrators of this dastardly act, but to also subject them to face the consequences of their deed, as well as formulate appropriate policies that will secure our highways, guarantee protection of lives and property and redeem the diminishing hope for good governance in order to prevent lawlessness and anarchy in this respect.”

Akinniyi said after Elusiyan’s vehicle was shot several times, the driver succeeded in driving away from the scene to a police checkpoint, where it was discovered that Elusiyan was already dead.

How Dankwanbo was nearly kidnapped.

A former governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, has reportedly escaped being kidnapped on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening, according to one of his aides, Ibrahim Y. Tanko, who posted a video of the incident on his Twitter handle @MrYTanko.

The video was recorded by the ex-governor’s security aides, Tanko said; adding that Dankwambo was travelling to Abuja when the incident happened.

“Time was around 4:35pm on Tuesday and His Excellency was travelling in a convoy to Abuja.

“The kidnappers blocked the Abuja-Kaduna express road, but the security men in our convoy gave them a chase.

“The hoodlums still managed to abduct about seven people, though,” the aide narrated.

Another aide who wished to remain anonymous told journalists that Dankwambo’s convoy ran into the kidnappers while they operated on the highway, and that his security details fired into the air and dispersed the criminals.

He disclosed that the bandits killed three persons in the process.

Other road users who witnessed the incident also said that the gunmen mounted a barricade around Olam Farm, where they carried out the kidnap and killed some travellers who ran into them.

“The gunmen blocked the expressway and shot at passing drivers.

“They kidnapped many people and ran into the forest with them,” the eyewitness, a commercial bus driver said.

He added that there were three dead bodies on the road, while fleeing drivers and other road users left their vehicles on the road.

The encounter lasted about 30 minutes, the driver said, adding that it was a narrow escape for him and his passengers.

“I was among the drivers that narrowly escaped the attack while driving with my passengers from Abuja to Kaduna,” the driver, who identified himself as Sani, added.

See the video posted by one of the ex-governor’s aides on the incident:

Legit.ng gathers that Okeke, who was listed among Forbes 100 Most Influential Young Africans 2018, was arrested by the FBI over $12m fraud.

The FBI did a thorough investigation on the criminal activities of the Nigerian entrepreneur, which led to his arrest by the law enforcement agency.

Social media has been agog with the report of the arrest, as some Nigerians condemned the fraudulent act of the entrepreneur, while others called on the Nigerian security agencies to learn from the FBI.

Okeke was alongside three others, nominated for the most prestigious award for African businessmen/entrepreneurs, the All African Business Leaders Award for Young Business Leader (West Africa).

Obi has investment in real estate development, energy and construction. His company, Invictus Group, operates in three African countries, which include Nigeria, South Africa, and Zambia.

He tweetd:

“If you’re a practicing or aspiring Yahoo Boy, please read this affidavit well. If EFCC doesn’t get you, FBI will. They’ve both ramped up their clampdown on computer and wire fraud.”

How Neymar denied rape allegations against him for five hours.

Neymar testified to Brazilian prosecutors for five hours on Thursday in the wake of rape allegations made by a 26-year-old woman.

Najila Trindade accused the Paris Saint-Germain of star of raping her in a Paris hotel, calling the May 15 incident “an assault together with rape”.

The winger has vehemently denied the allegations levied against him, and has not been charged with any crime by Brazilian authorities.

On Thursday, Neymar provided testimony to Sao Paulo authorities for five hours before making a statement to the press.

“I will be brief… I just want to thank the support and care from all those had sent me messages,” Neymar said.

“And to say that I am calm. The truth will appear, soon or later. The only wish I have right now is that this case end as fast as possible”.

Before Neymar’s statement, the three prosecutors who interrogated him also made a brief statement of their own – in Portuguese – to the local media.

“He answered all the questions. From now on, the commissioner Juliana Bussacos will take other actions needed to conclude the investigation.

“As the inquiry is confidential, we cannot say anything about these actions. He answered all the questions in a satisfactory way. He denied the crime”.

The Brazil star had previously spoken with Rio de Janeiro police over his publication of videos and messages allegedly of his accuser to his Instagram account without her approval.

Neymar’s father claimed he preferred “an internet crime to rape” and said the images were censored and the name of the woman not revealed.

After testifying for that investigation at the Virtual Crimes precinct on Thursday, Neymar thanked fans for their support while his lawyer, Maira Fernandes, claims to be confident her client will be found innocent.

Neymar was expected to lead Brazil in this summer’s Copa America, but suffered an ankle injury against Qatar in a pre-tournament friendly that saw him removed from the match after just 21 minutes.

He has since been replaced by Chelsea winger Willian, with PSG saying he is expected to be out of action for up to four weeks.

Brazil are set to begin the Copa America on Friday against Bolivia.

Jilted lover sets girlfriend’s family members ablaze, kills five

A man, Deji Adenuga, a.k.a. Dakar, on Tuesday allegedly set eight family members of his estranged girlfriend ablaze on Adetuwo Street, Igbodigo town, in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that five of the victims had given up the ghost, while three others were receiving treatment at the Trauma Centre, Ondo town, Ondo State.

A source told our correspondent that Adenuga was dating a girl in the family, identified only as Titi; but she later called off the relationship.

In retaliation, the suspect was alleged to have set the room where the family lived ablaze.

The source said, “What happened today (Tuesday) was shocking. The man (Adenuga) almost wiped out an entire family early this morning.

“He was angry because the girl (Titi) he was dating said she was no more interested in the relationship. In order to deal with the girl, he poured petrol in the room where all members of her family were sleeping and set them ablaze.

“He actually missed his target because the girl was not in the room at the time he set the room ablaze.

“Eight members of the family were severely burnt. Five of them have been confirmed dead, while the remaining three were rushed to the Trauma Centre, Ondo, where they are receiving treatment.”

The source noted that the suspect fled the town after the act, adding that his whereabouts was unknown to residents.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph, said the police had begun investigation into the incident.

“We are on the trail of the suspect, while investigation has commenced into the matter. We will soon arrest him,” Joseph said.

10 dead, 30 children hurt as Nigeria policeman rams car into crowd

Ten people were killed and more than 30 injured when a policeman rammed his carinto a group of children during an Easter procession in northeast Nigeria, before being killed himself by the angry crowd, witnesses and police sources told AFP Monday.
The deadly incident happened late Sunday when the off-duty policeman ploughed his car into a procession celebrating Easter in Gombe, state police spokeswoman Mary Mallum said.

“Ten people were killed, including the policeman and a paramilitary member who was with him,” Mallum said.

“We learnt the policeman and his friend who were not in uniform were attacked and killed by the angry crowd,” she said.

“Another 30 children were injured and are currently in hospital while the investigation is ongoing,” Mallum said.

According to witnesses at the scene contacted by AFP, the driver deliberately drove the car into the crowd following an altercation over the procession blocking the road.

“The driver of the car had a heated argument with the children before they made way for him to pass, only for him, in a fit of rage, to turn and drive into them,” said Isaac Kwadang, head of the Boys Brigade in Gombe.

“He did it on purpose,” Kwadang said.

Religious processions are common by Christian and Muslim adherents during festivities and religious observances in Nigeria in which roads are blocked, causing traffic chaos.

In December 2016 at least 13 Muslim school children were killed when a bus skidded off the road and rammed into a procession marking the birthday of Prophet Mohammed in Malam Side village, 20 kilometres from Gombe.

Cultists on the rampage in Lagos, behead two, kill three others

Residents of Alasiya in Abraham Adesanya Estate area, in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, were thrown into panic on Sunday as a suspected clash by rival cults left five corpses on the streets.
Eyewitnesses, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said the clash started around midnight, adding that two of the five corpses were beheaded.

It was gathered that one victim was shot dead, another was slaughtered and the last one was butchered to death.

It was learnt that the police were able to recover four corpses because the family of one of the victims refused to release his remains.

A resident, Black Che, said he heard multiple gunshots around midnight.

The Enugu State indigene said, “Last night, when we were inside the factory around midnight, we heard gunshots. But when we came out this morning, we saw five corpses. The police evacuated four corpses but the last corpse was not released to them, because the family of the person who was killed prevented them from taking his corpse away.

“Two of the corpses that I saw were beheaded; another one was shot dead and his assailants slit his throat; another was slaughtered; and the last one was butchered. The corpses were dumped at different locations around the Alasiya bus stop.

“One dead body was by the road divider at General Paint; one was in front of the bus stop; another was in front of a school; one was not far from the Total filling station; while the last one was by the recycling area around the bus stop.”

A security guard, Uka Kalu, said when he heard the gunshots around midnight, he immediately closed the gate of the company he was hired to secure, adding that he was surprised to learn of the death of five people in the morning.

He said, “I was inside when I started hearing gunshots and the noise of people. I came out to observe what was going on. When I got outside, I asked the people I saw what was going on and what they told me was that some people who disembarked from a vehicle were the ones shouting. I immediately got inside and locked the gate.

“It was in the morning that we realised that the noise was in connection with the killing of five people, and when one of our workers visited the scene, he came back saying the sight was gory.”

A welder, Isiak Adebayo, while condemning the rate at which youths were killing themselves in the name of cultism, charged security agents to restore normalcy in the area.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said four corpses that were probably dumped in the area were recovered, adding that the command had commenced investigation into the matter.

“Four corpses were recovered from the scene of the incident and what we are suspecting is a cult supremacy fight. We have launched an investigation into the case,” Elkana said.

Mbire men rape daughters in bizarre rituals

DISTURBING reports have surfaced from some remote parts of Mbire district in Mashonaland Central where some fathers are allegedly raping their daughters and forcing them into incestuous relationships which they believe guarantees them a bumper crop harvest.
This came to light following increased cases of rape presented at the chiefs’ courts and also of young girls turning up pregnant at health facilities. These remote areas are far from police posts and clinics so chiefs’ courts are their only source of justice.

“Ward 2 has the most reported cases of incest involving fathers and their daughters. And according to some of the victims, they are being forced to be intimate with their fathers,” Fadzisai Mawunganidze of Katswe Sistahood said.

There is widespread belief – perpetuated by traditional healers – in the area that a greater yield is achieved when the father becomes intimate with his daughters.

“Some of the girls fall pregnant and that is when the crime is revealed, but because they are cut off from clinics and police posts it becomes difficult to report,” she said.

As part of their interventions, Katswe Sistahood and other stakeholders are now engaging the local leadership and other government officials to raise awareness on issues like teen pregnancies and child marriages, which are rampant in the area.

“We also highlight the importance of accessing health services such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and emergency contraceptive methods when there are such cases,” she said.

PEP involves taking antiretroviral medicines after being potentially exposed to HIV to prevent infection. PEP must be started within 72 hours after a recent possible exposure to HIV.

Meanwhile, rape cases in Zimbabwe have been on the increase over the years and last year a report from the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency revealed that 7 394 cases had been reported in the first quarter of 2017.

There were also reports that 24 women were raped everyday with 60% of the cases involving children below the age of 18.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) recently warned female vendors and those commuting at night to be wary of rapists who were posing as prospective customers or commuters.

In a Twitter post, the ZRP urged the women to be vigilant, saying they had noticed a trend where women were being waylaid in secluded places.

American tourist Kimberly Sue Endicott rescued from kidnappers in Uganda, authorities say

An Orange County woman and her driver who were kidnapped at gunpoint by a group of men in a Uganda national park last week have been rescued from their captors, authorities said Sunday.

Kimberly Sue Endicott, 56, an aesthetician from Costa Mesa, and her driver, Congolese national Jean-Paul Mirenge Remezo, were rescued by security services, the Ugandan government tweeted. No other details about their rescue were available.

Their kidnappers had demanded a $500,000 ransom for their release.

Endicott was traveling in a car on an evening game drive with Remezo and two other tourists in the national park on Tuesday when four men held them at gunpoint. The other tourists, an elderly couple, escaped, but the gunmen took Endicott and Remezo, said Uganda deputy police spokeswoman Polly Namaye.

The tour vehicle, which belongs to Wild Frontiers Uganda, was left parked and the kidnappers took the key, Namaye said.

Pam Lopez, who met Endicott through her work as an aesthetician, said it was her friend’s lifelong dream to go on safari in Africa to see gorillas. Lopez had been following Endicott’s trip through photos her friend posted on Instagram. One image she posted showed four armed soldiers who were guarding the group.

Ugandan police said Wednesday that they had dispatched an elite group of police officers, military personnel and wildlife authority officials to assist in the search. The park’s Ishasha Wilderness Camp area, where the ambush occurred, is a popular tourist destination close to the border with Congo. Joint security teams have cut off all exit areas on the border between Uganda and Congo to search for Endicott and the tour guide.

Uganda recorded a surge in kidnapping cases last year, prompting street protests by activists who said security agencies weren’t doing enough to protect residents. However, officials recently stressed that it is unusual for a tourist to be kidnapped in Uganda, which has a thriving tourism industry stemming from its wildlife and national parks.

The northern part of the park remains open to tourists, but the U.S. Embassy has warned Americans in the area to be careful.

Endicott, who has had an aesthetician’s license since 1998, runs a skin care business in Costa Mesa. A review from a customer posted on the business’ website highlights Endicott’s professional talent and also describes her as a “wonderful and caring person.”

Ailing nurse alleges to having swapped 5,000 babies within 12 years for fun

Elizabeth Mwewa confessed her sins on her hospital bed

  • The former nurse who is suffering from cancer revealed she exchanged about 5,000 babies while working at the hospital

  • Mwewa added that it became a habit and she used to do it for fun

  • The sick nurse asked God for forgiveness

Nurses are seen as caregivers in the hospital and patients are supposed to feel safe and taken care of in their charge.

However, some nurses have proven to be the devil in human form.

I swapped about 5,000 Babies in 12 years I worked in maternity ward at UTH – Elizabeth Mwewa

A Zambian nurse, Elizabeth Mwewa, has confessed her sins on her sick bed as she asked God for forgiveness, Zambian Observer reported.

The nurse who used to work at The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Zambia confessed that she has exchanged over 5000 babies during 12 years of service.

“I have terminal cancer and I know I will be dying soon. I wish to confess my sins before God and before all the affected people especially those who were giving birth at UTH during my service,” she said.

According to the elderly woman, she is now born again and did not want to hide anything that would stop her from visiting the land of honey and milk.

” I have nothing to hide, In the 12 years I worked in the maternity ward at UTH, I swapped close to 5000 babies,” she confessed.

Mwewa added that it became a habit and she used to do it for fun which has now acknowledged that she has sinned against God and Zambians and would want them to forgive her.

“I know I sinned against God and may he forgive me for that. I am also asking Zambians to forgive me for the evil things I was doing to innocent children. I have caused some faithful couples to divorce after going for DNA Tests,” she said.

She also put the blame on the devil whom she claimed was using her to commit the sins she’s most regretful now.

“I have caused many mothers to breastfeed children who are not theirs biologically. I don’t want to go to Hell for that, Am really sorry I have sinned alot. Please forgive me,” she begged.

Mwewa also added that kids born between 1983 to 1995 at the hospital should check themselves particularly if they look different from their other siblings.

“If you were born in UTH between the years 1983 to 1995 chances are your parents may not be your biological parents. I had developed a habit of swapping newly born babies just for fun,” she said.

So take a good look at your siblings, if for example everyone is light and you are darkie… you are that child and I am really sorry for that,” she added.

It is strange how someone can think swapping babies is fun.
