Chris Brown’s baby son christened Aeko.

Chris Brown‘s baby son is called Aeko.

The 30-year-old rapper – who already has five-year-old daughter Royalty with his former partner Nia Guzman – announced on Instagram on Friday (29.11.19) that him and his ex-girlfriend Ammika Harris have chosen the unusual moniker for him. Alongside a picture of him looking at his phone, Chris wrote: “RORO & AEKO(ECHO) (sic).”

Up until now, the former couple haven’t publicly spoken about their tot’s birth, but they did both take to social media to post cryptic messages, which fans of the ‘No Guidance’ hit-maker thought was about their new arrival.

Ammika posted on her Instagram story on Thursday (21.11.19): “I was in love, when I first saw you.”

And Chris shared an image of himself with the caption “11-20-2019”, which fans thought was his son’s birth date, as well as a second image of himself wearing a hoodie emblazoned with the word “born”.

The news came after it was reported in August that the pair were due to welcome a baby boy, following their split earlier this year.

It was also claimed at the time that Ammika and Chris “are getting along well” and Chris is looking after her “financially, medically and emotionally”.

In June, Chris hinted at his baby news on social media, referring to Ammika as his “baby mama”.

Meanwhile, last year, Chris agreed to “significantly” increase his child support payments to Nia Guzman.

The ‘Loyal’ hitmaker had been paying his former partner $2,500 a month to support their daughter Royalty, and he agreed to increase the sum considerably following months of discussions in mediation.

The musician reportedly also agreed to buy a house for Nia and to pay over $100,000 of her legal fees.

How a Nigerian woman was jailed for 10 years for drug trafficking.

A Nigerian woman, identified as Tammy, has pleaded guilty to charges of drug trafficking and bank fraud in the US and may spend up to 10 years in jail.

In a statement by the Department of Justice, US Attorney’s Office (Eastern District of Virginia) last Tuesday (November 5), Tammy pleaded guilty to the allegations of conspiring with others to import more than five kilograms of cocaine, as well as to her role in a separate bank fraud scheme, and to making false statements relating to fraudulent claims submitted to Medicaid for reimbursement.

Zachary Terwilliger, US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia said “Tammy is a ‘triple threat’ of criminality – drug trafficker, a fraudster, and a liar. Tammy, a Nigerian immigrant who has spent the last two decades with the privilege of living in the United States as a lawful permanent resident, clearly has zero respect for American laws pertaining to our borders, controlled substances, our financial system, or our health care system.”

With her guilty plea, Tammy faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison for the cocaine importation charge when sentenced on February 28, 2020.

According to court documents, Tammy, who is 40-years-old, recruited men from the greater Washington, D.C. area to act as drug couriers. She was also accused of opening bank accounts in the couriers’ names, assisting them in obtaining passports and visas, and booking their travel arrangements.

Tammy’s suspected couriers travelled primarily to São Paulo, Brazil, where they picked up kilogram quantities of cocaine hidden in the lining of soft-sided briefcases or attaché cases. Altogether, law enforcement seized nearly seven kilograms of cocaine at three different US airports from three separate couriers allegedly recruited by Tammy.

The statement also revealed that in addition to the cocaine importation scheme, Tammy also submitted falsified and fraudulent claims to the D.C. Department of Health Care Finance, a health care benefit program funded by Medicaid.

It was reported that Tammy worked as a personal care aide for various home health agencies in the Washington D.C. area, and in order to receive payment for services rendered, Tammy was required to submit time sheets signed by her clients documenting the services rendered. Instead of submitting time sheets for time actually worked providing health care services, Tammy recruited Medicaid recipients to act as her “patients” and to sign her falsified timesheets in return for a small amount of money as a kickback. On at least two occasions, Tammy billed DHCF for home health services she claimed to have provided while she was out of the country.

Apart from the cocaine importation and the home health services scheme, Tammy alleged also used her African goods business in Maryland to carry out a bank fraud.

Can you wait and examine yourself?

Nigeria is not good you said but right in your presence DBanj, Davido, Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Naira Marley, DJ Cuppy came from abroad and while you are still wailing, they have made it in the music industry, controlling Dollars and living their dreams.

Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, Flavour, P-Square, TuFace, Kiss Daniels,  are Naija born. But na the same economy and bad leadership. But through hard work and dedication, they have made it while you still dey shout, “Nigeria is bad!

Leave music, let’s talk about sport.

Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha, Vicent Enyeama, Odion Ighalo, Samuel Kanu, Ahmed Musa, Mikel Obi, Jamiu Collins, Victor Osihmen, Samuel Chukwueze, Uzoho, Oghenekaro, Ramon Azeez, na under this same “Nigeria is bad and bad leadership” their talents were discovered before international clubs discovered them.

What then is your excuse?

Many of Nigeria’s current sportsmen and women from athletics to basketball, boxing, table tennis, taekwondo, etc, who have conquered poverty and living big and doing Nigeria proud at home and abroad, started from this our obodo Nigeria. You still dey shout, “Nigeria is bad!”

Let’s move to entertainment.

Alibaba, Basket Mouth, I Go Dye, Klint Da Drunk, Lepacious Bose, Akpororo, Bovi, Ayo Makun, Helen Paul, Igosave, Chioma Omeruah, Emmanuela, Frank D Don, John Okafor, Ushbebe, Tee A, Mark Angel . The majority of these people were not born with a silver spoon. But through hard work, discipline, dedication, creativity, and diligence, they have waved poverty goodbye. While you are still shouting, “Nigeria is not working!”

Let’s move to Digital Marketing.

Linda Ekeji, Uche Eze Pedro, Demola Ogundele, Kemi Filani, Eme Achanga, Ladun Liadi, Japheth Joshua Omojuwa, Laila, Makinde Azeez, Jide Ogunsanya, Yemisi Aiyedun, Noble Igwe, Chude Jideonwo, Loy Okezie, Onibalusi Bamidele,Dimoko Korkus, Ayeni Adekunle, Ono Bello, Ajetunmobi Sheriff, Chidimma Umeh, Chioma Iwunze, Osemhen Akhibi, Temitope Balogun Akinmuda.

It is in this same “Nigeria no dey work” that the majority of them made it.

What then is your excuse?

What about entrepreneurship?

Temitope Ogunsemo, Oluwatobi Ajayi, Abubakar Sadiq Falalu, Obinna Okwodu, Etop Ikpe, Evans Akanno, Kehinde Ayanleye, Adedayo Saheed Amzat, Oluwaseun Tamitope Osewa, Razak Ahmed, Ijeoma Ndukwe-Egwuronu, Ohmai Atafo, Auodeji Adewunmi, Peter Banigo, Olorunyomi Omoniyi Makun, Ezra Olubi, Eyo Bassey, Olalekan Olude, Opeyemi Awoyemi.

The majority of these entrepreneurs attended the same calamitous universities you attended. But through hard work, dedication, discipline, faith, and diligence, they were able to surmount the Nigerian challenges and made it big. The same “Nigeria is not working”

In your koro eyes, when you were seeing Boko Haram in the North, one American lady, Mira Mehta while driving along Kaduna road saw a business opportunity in agro-processing via tomato roadside sellers and set up Tomato Jos Company in Kaduna. So did Retson A Tedheke and co set up the Nigeria Farmers Group and Cooperative Society (NFGCS) with headquarter in Nasarawa. Under-five years it was created, NFGCS with Retson as Managing Partner is breaking new grounds in the Nigerian agriculture sector and value chain. What then is your excuse? Still the same “Nigeria is not working” and “bad leadership” excuses?

Yes, things are hard. Nigeria has a lot of problems. But without challenges, there will be no opportunities. As big as Nigeria’s problems are, so are her opportunities.

Examine yourself.

What is your talent?

What are you doing right?

What are you not doing right?

What us your strengths and weaknesses?

Use your strengths to minimize your weaknesses.

What do you love doing?

What is that thing work you do that gives you peace of mind?

Many of the world’s most successful people are successful because they live what they do.

What’s your vision and mission?

What is your purpose in life?

A person without vision perishes. Many people in Nigeria complaining because they are perishing.

Check your environment, open your eyes to and sniff for opportunities in relation to your talent, identify it, write it down (business plan), pursue it, start small but aim big, pray to God for guidance. All jobs are not created by the government. Nollywood was started without any government intervention but see where it is today!

Pursue your dreams.

Don’t procrastinate. It is dangerous. Remember, you are not the only one that dreams. God’s rain falls on everybody.

Pray for those in the position of authority. In them lies your peace and your security. Pray for Nigeria and believe in her. What you don’t believe in doesn’t work for you.

Finally, eschew bitterness, remove hatred, be kind to people, remember the poor and needy, be at peace with all people, be financially disciplined, and long for knowledge. And your creator will crown your effort with success.

God Bless Nigeria 🇳🇬🛐🙏👏

ARE YOU A GOOD MUSICIAN?

One of the observations I made in the recent xenophobic attacks on foreigners by South Africans with its accompanied hullabaloo and furore is the resurrection of lyrics created and sang by Lucky Dube of blessed memory.

I was in transit yesterday evening and the musical blast of Lucky Dube overwhelmed my consciousness throughout.

Then,I began to think deeply about the effect of good lyrics on the Society and I concluded that some of these musicians are prophets in their area of calling.

Lucky Dube saw the recent happenings ahead and gave it to us before he was brutally murdered by his country men.

The questions to all Musicians and those that are aspiring to become one is:

Are you a good musician?

Are you always bothered about your content and the effect on the Society?

Do you think that your content can become an idea that will end up transforming into an evergreen legacy?

It is high time that you become careful about what you dish out to the Society. It might end up becoming a trap to you and the generation unborn.

Many great minds have sang evergreen lyrics and the contents of their lyrics are still relevant to the realities of the present day.

This is because these are people who were able to think deep before dishing out lyrics to the Society.

Lucky Dube is one.

luckydube

Bob Marley is another one.

bob

Fela Anikulapo-Kuti is a prophet that uses his music to speak about the future.

fela

We have them all around us.

They maximised their talents to address issues in the Society.

They were relevant when they are living and after death, they are still relevant through the product of their talent.

A situation whereby music done by musicians that are dead becomes preferable to the one done by you when you are alive needs that you have to adjust and do the needful in passing across timely and right message to the world.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Stop adding to the challenges of the society through your lyrics.

How DJ Arafat Tomb was desecrated.

Ivorian police have detained 12 people as part of a probe into the desecration of DJ Arafat’s tomb after fans opened the music star’s coffin to take photos of him hours after his burial, officials said Monday.

The incident took place Saturday following an overnight funeral concert at Abidjan’s main stadium, where tens of thousands paid tribute to the singer who died aged 33 in a motorbike crash last month.

Events took a dark turn when fans tried to enter the Williamsville cemetery where the singer’s family had given him a private burial, prompting clashes with police.

Several people made it past security, forced open the fresh grave and coffin, and took photos and videos that they shared on social media.

Police fired teargas to disperse the grave profaners, and several people were injured, witnesses told AFP.

“A probe has been opened and will be made public,” state prosecutor Richard Adou told AFP.

Abidjan’s prefecture, meanwhile, confirmed that 12 had been detained following the incident.

DJ Arafat, whose given name was Ange Didier Houon, was one of the most popular African musicians in the Francophone world, and had been referred to as the “king” of coupe-decale (cut and run), an Ivorian form of dance music.

News of his death had led to scenes of hysteria among some of his fans and Twitter tributes from fellow artists. President Alassane Ouattara called him “a youth icon and ambassador of Ivorian music and culture”.

Why Tribunal sacked Dino Melaye?

The senator representing Kogi West senatorial district at the Senate, Dino Melaye, has been sacked by the National Assembly election petition tribunal.
Vanguard reports that Melaye, who was a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was declared winner of the February 23 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Dissatisfied by the declaration, Senator Smart Adeyemi, who was the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), approached the tribunal to challenge Melaye’s victory, citing irregularities over-voting and non compliance with the electoral acts.

The three man panel led by Justice A. O. Chijioke in a unanimous judgment on Friday, August 23, accepted Adeyemi’s ground and ordered for reelection into the senatorial axis.
Reacting to the tribunal’s judgement, Melaye who is contesting in the upcoming governorship election in Kogi state said there was no cause for alarm over his sack, adding that his mandate would not be taken from him.

Legit.ng reported that the embattled senator said that even if the ruling was in his favour, it would have been appealed. He insisted that there would be fresh senatorial election in the district and that he would be Kogi’s next governor. According to him, he who laughs last laughs long.

Tunisia defeated Ghana 5-4 on penalties.

Tunisia defeated Ghana 5-4 on penalties Monday with Ferjani Sassi converting the decisive spot-kick to end a 54-year Africa Cup of Nations losing streak against the Black Stars.
After a 1-1 draw following extra time in Ismailia, Tunisia scored from all five penalties while Ghana substitute Caleb Ekusan had his attempt saved by Farouk Ben Mustapha, who came off the bench especially for the shootout.
Victory was sweet for Tunisia as they had lost six times to Ghana in the African football showcase from 1965 after drawing the first meeting between the nations two years earlier.

On Thursday, the Carthage Eagles play giantkillers Madagascar in a quarter-final in Cairo with the winners meeting Senegal or Benin for a place in the July 19 final.
Losing on penalties ended a Ghana run of six consecutive top-four finishes in the Cup of Nations and puts the future of coach Kwesi Appiah in doubt.
Four-time former champions Ghana changed two of the team that began a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau that enabled them to pip Cameroon for top spot in Group F on goals scored.

Both alterations were on the left side of a 4-3-3 formation with defender Nuhu Kasim and midfielder Afriyie Acquah replacing Joseph Aidoo and Owusu Kwabena.
Tunisia coach and 1980s France star Alain Giresse reacted to an embarrassing 0-0 draw with minnows Mauritania in their previous match by dropping four of the team.
A big surprise was the exclusion of forward Wahbi Khazri, who had been the outstanding Tunisian attacker in the group phase and scored one of their two goals.

Bassem Srarfi, Naim Sliti and Karim Aouadhi were also relegated to the bench with Ghaylen Chaalali, Ferjani Sassi, Taha Yassine Khenissi and Anice Badri promoted.
After early yellow cards for Ghanaian John Boye, the first player to be red-carded in the group phase, and Tunisian Dylan Bronn, the first half became a cagey, even affair.
Ghana came close to scoring on 16 minutes when a Kasim header struck the post and Andre Ayew fired the rebound straight at goalkeeper Hassen Mouez.
Andre Ayew was convinced he had put the Black Stars ahead on 41 minutes when he backheeled a cross into the net, but the referee ruled that Thomas Partey handled in the build-up.
Replays showed the ball touching the chin of the Atletico Madrid midfielder rather than a hand and the disallowed goal infuriated the Ghanaians.
Midway through the second half Giresse had second thoughts about the composition of his attack, which was making little impression, and sent on Khazri in place of Badri.
Khazri needed just five minutes to make an impact with his brilliant backheel creating space for Wajdi Kechrida to cross and Khenissi scored with a shot that went in off the near post.
The woodwork foiled Ghana a second time when a Mubarak Wakaso shot from outside the box struck the far post 10 minutes from the end of regular time with Mouez beaten.
In the first minute of stoppage time, the Blacks Stars drew level with an attempted headed clearance by Bedoui looped over Mouez, who had strayed off his line.

AN APPEAL TO OUR LADIES.

It is a good thing to be fashion conscious or probably be a fashionista.
The introduction of undies is good especially when there was a general acceptance in the modification whereby the usage of panties have been overtaken by the usage of “tight” as it is locally called.
The usage of “tight” as it offers better coverage of private parts when compared to ordinary panties is a very reasonable fashion invention that no right thinking person can deny.

It offers a kind of convenience that makes any woman to be free in moving from one point to another.
Moving around Lagos, one could easily observed that the purpose of this introduction is been abused without any thought of what it portrays in our society.
Looking around while moving is becoming difficult because your the sanctity expected by your eyes and the sanity expected by your mind are been subjected to punishment when every nooks and crannies of your stay in a particular area is filled and overwhelmed by public display of open-female laps.
Just because the usage of “tight” provides comfort and coverage, many ladies have lost the consciousness of maintaining a closed lap when seated in the public.
A situation whereby our public places and spot are filled up with open laps simply connotes a Society that will soon be lost in immortality and distraction.
The level of distractions offered by our society is enough, it should not be added to by open female laps.
Ladies should endeavour to manage their laps very well when in public by closing it.
An open female laps in public spaces connotes nothing but an unnecessary distraction that is unexpected in a sane Society.

nu
Meanwhile, some of the laps been on display are not worth it, some are dirty and if you are not careful, you might end up vomiting your intestine because they are irritating.
Being fashionable is good and acceptable but it becomes a social burden when the purpose is subjected to abuse.
In conclusion, you protect your dignity and integrity by maintaining a closed laps in the public.
Stop subjecting the sanctity and sanity of your society to unnecessary pornography that will make men to be distracted.
Thank you.

“Perdue Chickens can never talk (expletive) about queens,” Minaj says, referring to herself as royalty.

There’s no truce in the Nicki Minaj-Miley Cyrus word wars.

In a new episode of her “Queen Radio” show Friday, Minaj dismissed her fellow music star as a “Perdue chicken” as part of a back-and-forth feud that goes back to 2015.

“Perdue Chickens can never talk (expletive) about queens,” Minaj says, referring to herself as royalty. “But I do notice a lot of Perdue chickens have been trying to say the queen’s name for clout. And that’s always been happening. And that’s what (Cyrus) did in the first place. And the white girl cry and made the black girl seem like she was a bad guy… She disrespected me in a magazine article for no reason.”

In the process, Minaj also threw a crude accusation at Cyrus.

Minaj’s slam comes a few weeks after fans questioned whether Cyrus was throwing shade in her new song “Cattitude,” with the lyric: “I love you Nicki, but I listen to Cardi.” (Minaj and rap rival Cardi B got into an infamous brawl at a New York Fashion Week party in September.)

Cyrus clarified the lyrics on Roman Kemp’s Capital Breakfast radio show, saying there is no beef anymore, according to complex.com.

“They’re both queens. And anytime you want to feel powerful and strong, that’s my go-to: Cardi and Nicki,” Cyrus said on the radio show, according to People.com.

Nevertheless, fans looked back to the start of the beef between Cyrus and Minaj in 2015, which opened with Cyrus taking Taylor Swift’s side vs. Minaj in a New York Times interview, according to billboard.com. Minaj responded tartly in person days later at the VMA Awards, saying host Cyrus “had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?”

Minaj shared some personal news, too, during the radio show. She started riffing about pregnancy, before saying she wasn’t, “but we did get our marriage license,” she said, referring to boyfriend Kenneth Petty.

She continued, explaining she’s in a good place.

“I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything. Certain traveling things I don’t (want to) do it. I’m just enjoying my downtime.”

“I ain’t going to jail”—Cardi B

Cardi B isn’t letting an indictment get her down.

During her performance at the 2019 BET Experience on Saturday, the 26-year-old rapper took a moment in between songs to proclaim “I ain’t going to jail” multiple times.

Wearing a sparkly purple look, complete with matching gloves and shoes, as well as fishnet tights, the crowd cheered as Cardi energetically repeated the phrase.

— #BETMusic (@BETMusic) June 23, 2019
Cardi’s proclamation follows her Friday indictment by a grand jury in Queens, New York, for misdemeanor charges stemming from an altercation at a strip club in August 2018.

Though the specific charges in the indictment are sealed until her arraignment on Tuesday, June 25, when Cardi was initially arrested in October she was charged with two misdemeanors, assault and reckless endangerment.

The incident occurred at the Angels Strip Club in Queens, when the “I Like It” rapper and nine members of her entourage allegedly threw chairs, bottles and a hookah pipe towards bartenders, two of whom were said to be injured.

According to legal documents obtained by ET, one bartender claimed that one of the drinks allegedly thrown by a member of Cardi’s group landed on her face, resulting in burning, itching and temporary blindness in her eyes.

Cardi rejected a plea offer from the Queen’s D.A. in April, and her lawyer has claimed she didn’t injure anyone during the incident.

Pipeline Explosion in Eastern Nigeria: Numbers of victims remain unknown.

At least eight people died in an oil pipeline explosion in south-eastern Nigeria, police and a local official reported on Sunday, which does not rule out a heavier toll.
“I went to the scene as soon as I was informed of the accident,” said Gerald Oforji, a local politician.
“And we’ve counted at least eight charred bodies, but I think there may be more.” According to initial investigations, the pipeline “belongs to the Pipeline Product Marketing Company (PPMC) and was undergoing maintenance when the explosion occurred”, according to the same source.
“The accident took place on Saturday in the Kom Kom area of Oyigbo, while a team of engineers were carrying out maintenance work on the pipeline,” Nnamdi Omono, spokesman for the Rivers State Police, told AFP.
“The number of victims is still unknown.” On Sunday morning, the fire was contained, he added.
Nigeria, Africa’s largest oil producer, depends for more than two-thirds of its public revenues on oil.

No infidelity in our relationship—Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith are now are on solid ground, but that was not always the case.
The actress talked about relationships, infidelity and independence in the latest episode of her “Red Table Talk” show on Facebook.
Pinkett Smith and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, were joined by couples therapist Esther Perel on the show for the discussion.

“I’m asked a lot about, ‘Is there infidelity in your relationship with Will?'” Pinkett Smith said. “And it’s like, ‘No, but there have been other betrayals of the heart that have been far bigger than I could even think in regards to an infidelity situation.'”
She said she and Smith had to reassess their relationship.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith say their bond transcends mere marriage
“Specifically for me, in regards to redefining my marriage as a life partnership was the necessity of autonomy for myself and for Will, and finding the core of us that wanted to be together outside of the constraints of the traditional ideas of marriage because they weren’t working for us,” Pinkett Smith said. “Because they weren’t working for us.”
The star said she came to realize that their life together was based on Smith’s dream.
But as she she started exploring her own independence, Pinkett Smith said her husband “felt abandoned at first, he felt really abandoned.”
‘That’s one of the reasons why I stayed in it the way I did for so long,” she explained. “You never want to hurt the person that you love. I never want to create instability in that way. So I stayed in that position for so long because I didn’t know how to say it.”

“Once you change the life story, you can create a new love story,” Perel responded.
“That’s exactly what has occurred, and it’s been beautiful,” Pinkett Smith said.

What is the reason why some christians are stupid?

An American pastor from New Jersey backed by a British former clairvoyant is running a network that gives up to 50,000 Ugandans a “miracle cure” made from industrial bleach, claiming drinking the toxic fluid eradicates cancer, HIV/Aids, malaria and most other diseases.

The network, led by pastor Robert Baldwin and part-funded by Sam Little from Arlesey in Bedfordshire, is one of the most extensive efforts yet to distribute the “miracle cure” known as MMS, or “miracle mineral solution”. The Guardian has learned that poor Ugandans, including infants as young as 14 months old, are being given chlorine dioxide, a product that has no known health benefit and can be extremely dangerous.

Baldwin, 52, is importing bulk shipments of the components of MMS, sodium chlorite and citric acid, into Uganda from China. The two chemicals are mixed to produce chlorine dioxide, a powerful bleach used in the textile industry.

The American pastor has “trained” about 1,200 clerics in Uganda on administering the “miracle cure” and each in turn uses it to treat about 50 congregants, usually after Sunday service. As an inducement, Baldwin is offering smartphones to those clerics who are especially “committed” to spreading the bleach cure.

Baldwin operates under a ministry he founded called Global Healing. The “church” advertises itself as “using the power of Almighty God … to greatly reduce the loss of life” in Africa.

Yet in a phone conversation with Fiona O’Leary, a campaigner against quack medicine who spoke to him while posing as a freelance journalist, Baldwin said he distributed the bleach through churches to “stay under the radar”.
When you draw attention to MMS you run the risk of getting in trouble … That’s why I set it up through the church
Robert Baldwin
“We don’t want to draw any attention,” he said during the call, a recording of which has been heard by the Guardian. “When you draw attention to MMS you run the risk of getting in trouble with the government or drug companies. You have to do it low key. That’s why I set it up through the church.”

He added that as a further precaution he uses euphemisms on Facebook, where he raises money through online donations. “I don’t call it MMS, I call it ‘healing water’, to protect myself. They are very sophisticated. Facebook has algorithms that can recognize ‘MMS’.”

Baldwin, who trained as a student nurse and is understood to have no other medical expertise, said he chose Uganda because it was a poor country with weak regulation. Speaking from New Jersey, where he is based, he told O’Leary: “America and Europe have much stricter laws so you are not as free to treat people because it is so controlled by the FDA. That’s why I work in developing countries.”

He added: “Those people in poor countries they don’t have the options that we have in the richer countries – they are much more open to receiving the blessings that God has given them.”

Asked how babies and children were treated with MMS, he said the dose was reduced by half. “Little tiny infants can take a small amount, they will spit it out. It causes no harm – they just get diarrhea.”

The Guardian contacted Baldwin by phone in New Jersey and asked the pastor to explain his work in Uganda. He said: “We use natural healing therapies to help people – that’s something Christians do.”

Then he said: “I don’t think it’s a good idea to be talking to the media right now.”

Asked what doses of bleach he was using in Africa, he abruptly ended the call.

‘Sam’s orphanage’

MMS is banned in several countries, including Canada and Ireland. In the UK and US it is strictly controlled and has led to fraud prosecutions.

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a public warning that advises anyone with MMS to “stop using it immediately and throw it away”. Several people have been sickened by the chemical, the FDA says, suffering nausea, diarrhea and potentially “life-threatening low blood pressure caused by dehydration”.
Somebody in my family was cured of cancer with MMS
Sam Little
Baldwin’s growing MMS network in Uganda appears to involve the distribution of the bleach free of charge. It is not clear how the money is raised to pay for it. There are fundraising pages on Facebook, though the sums of money donated seem small.

The MMS push has been partly bankrolled by Sam Little. Aged 25, the Briton is currently based in Fort Portal, in the west of Uganda, where the Guardian spoke to him via cellphone.

According to his Facebook page, Little attended Staffordshire University before setting up as a clairvoyant with a business that is now defunct called Psychic Sam. Facebook posts from 2015 show him offering Tarot card readings, “healings” and “regression therapy” for £6.99 ($8.90).

He told the Guardian he also made money through “investments” and was using his savings to help fund MMS distribution in Uganda with a donation of $10,000. Separately, he has also put $30,000 into building a home for about 20 homeless Ugandan children.

He calls the home “Sam’s orphanage” on Facebook, where he is attempting to raise money through donations to complete the building. He said that project was a separate venture from his work with the bleach treatment and he insisted he had no intention of treating the children in his orphanage with MMS.

Little was first introduced to the “miracle cure” in England by a friend.

“Somebody in my family was cured of cancer with MMS,” he said. “I started researching online and saw more and more videos of people being cured. That’s when I decided to test it myself on malaria and travelled to Africa.”

Little has posted a video online of a trip he made on 11 March to a village hospital in Kyenjojo district, in western Uganda, where he conducted a trial that he said would prove malaria could be cured with chlorine dioxide within two hours. Though he has no medical training, the Briton is seen on the video instructing workers in a tiny local hospital to administer the bleach according to the formula: 18 drops for adults, 12 drops for children aged five to 12 and eight drops for children aged one to four.

The video shows nine people being given two doses of the fluid, including a baby aged about 14 months who screams in his mother’s arms as he imbibes it. Little claims blood tests conducted by a lab technician showed microscopic signs of malaria disappearing within two hours.

The Briton told the Guardian a lab technician had looked at blood samples from the nine local people being tested and said they had been cured. Little himself has not been back to the hospital to verify the results.

He told the Guardian he was repeating the study on HIV/Aids patients in several locations in Uganda, to prove that MMS was also a cure for that disease. He admitted he would not be allowed to conduct such “field studies” in the UK or US, but when asked whether he was using poor Ugandans as guinea pigs he replied he was not doing any of this for money but purely out of altruistic motives.

“It’s not using people as guinea pigs for trials,” he said, “it’s helping them. We’ve cured loads of people not just for malaria, cancer, HIV, all sorts of things.”

Asked to cite any scientific evidence that MMS cured diseases, he pointed to a 2018 study in which chlorine dioxide was tested on 500 malarial patients in Cameroon. The lead author of the study was Enno Freye of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The Guardian contacted the university and was told its medical faculty had reviewed the study and found it “scientifically worthless, contradictory and in part ethically problematic”. In February, Freye was stripped of his title of Apl-Professor of the faculty on grounds that he had “severely damaged the respectability and trust this title requires”. He no longer works at any institution of the university.

The Guardian attempted to contact Freye for comment but did not immediately hear back.

The Uganda ministry of health was alarmed to hear about the MMS trials, saying it had no information about chlorine dioxide being tested in Ugandan hospitals. Emmanuel Ainebyoona, a spokesman for the ministry, said a government investigation had been initiated.

“We are investigating these people’s activities. In the medical profession, you don’t do advertising when you heal people,” he said, referring to Little’s video in which he claims to have cured malaria in two hours.

The Ugandan ministry of gender and social development, which vets and approves all new orphanages, said it was also launching an inquiry into Little’s plans for a home for 20 children.

“We have never received documents from Fort Portal showing the need for an orphanage,” a senior official said. “That is new information to us.”
